B.C. election recounts triggered in two ridings, delaying result for a week
British Columbia's redrawn political landscape won't be settled for about a week, with manual recounts triggered in two key ridings after a nail-biting provincial election that has yet to produce a clear winner.
Elections BC said Sunday the recounts will take place from Oct. 26 to 28 in Juan de Fuca-Malahat and Surrey City Centre, where NDP candidates lead B.C. Conservatives by fewer than 100 votes.

The Winkler Flyers six-game win streak came to an end Sunday night at the ICON Arena. Cole Sheffield made 33 saves as the Dauphin Kings defeated the defending Turnbull Cup champions 3-1. Blake Matheson got the Flyers on the board first as he scored his third of the season on the power play 16:04 into the opening period. Rylan Gage scored a shorthanded goal for the Kings just over a minute later to even the score at 1-1. Cayden Glover potted the go-ahead goal 17 seconds into the second period and Gavin Nemis put the visitors up by two with a power play goal 3:03 into the third.

Pilot Mound man facing charges after police seize over 400 grams of cocaine in traffic stop
A 42-year-old man from Pilot Mound is facing charges after the vehicle he was driving was pulled over by officers with the Winkler Police Service (WPS) around 5:30 Friday afternoon.
According to a WPS news release, an officer made the stop on Highway 23 near Myrtle in relation to an investigation of a man believed to be trafficking cocaine into the Winkler/Morden area. The driver was arrested.
With some help from members of the Morden Police Service, officers found $2,475 in cash and 441 grams of cocaine worth an estimated $44,100.
