Sports Round-Up: Tuesday, May 14

It's a sold-out game tonight at the Hangar as the Moose Jaw Warriors and the Portland Winterhawks face off in Game 3 of the Western Hockey League Championship final. Spectators are asked to put on their best red shirts to "Paint the Hangar Red".

The Warriors took both Games 1 and 2 in Portland on the weekend, to take a 2-0 lead in the best of 7.

Puck drop is tonight at 8 p.m., and you can catch all the action on Country 100 with James Gallo. The Warriors and Winterhawks hit the ice at the Moose Jaw Events Centre again tomorrow night, and if necessary, on Friday night.

Man charged with child pornography possession makes first court appearance

A 22-year-old man facing a charge of possession of child pornography made his first court appearance in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Thursday. 

Ashton Webber appeared in custody before Judge Brian Hendrickson. Provincial Crown Prosecutor Rob Parker agreed to his release under conditions.

Sports Round-Up: Monday, May 13

The Moose Jaw Warriors are back from Portland where they won both games one and two of the Western Hockey League Championship final against the Winterhawks. The Warriors beat the Winterhawks 3-2 on Friday night, and got a solid 5-1 win on Saturday.

Games 3 and 4, and if necessary, Game 5, will be happening in Moose Jaw tomorrow, Wednesday and Friday, with puck drop at 8 p.m. all days.

Sports Round-Up: Friday, May 10

Tonight's the night! It's Game 1 of the WHL Championship Final between the Moose Jaw Warriors and Portland Winterhawks.

The Warriors and Winterhawks will face off for Game 2 in Portland tomorrow, before both teams come back to Moose Jaw for the next three games starting on Tuesday.

Sports Round-Up: Thursday, May 9

The Moose Jaw Warriors will be on their way to Portland today. The team will face the Winterhawks in the WHL Championship Final, with Game 1 tomorrow at 8 p.m. Saskatchewan time.

The Warriors stay in Portland for Game 2 on Saturday, before coming back to Moose Jaw for games 3 through 5 on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday next week.

Sports Round-Up: Wednesday, May 8

The Moose Jaw Warriors are Western Hockey League Eastern Conference Champions! 3-2 the final score last night as the Warriors win the series 4 games to 3.

For the 6th time in 7 games the Warriors and Blades went to overtime.

The Warriors face the Winterhawks in Portland to get the WHL Championship final going this Friday. Puck drop at 8 p.m. Saskatchewan time, and you can catch all the action on Country 100 with the Voice of the Warriors, James Gallo.

The Warriors will host games 3, 4 and 5 next week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Sports Round-Up: Tuesday, May 7

It all comes down to one game - game 7 - tonight, at SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon.

The Moose Jaw Warriors face the Blades in the deciding game of the WHL Eastern Conference Championship final. Moose Javians saw the Warriors off on Main Street yesterday on their way to Saskatoon, with the boys getting a police escort out of town.

It's going to GAME SEVEN!

The Moose Jaw Warriors beat the Saskatoon Blades 4-3 in overtime yesterday, evening up the WHL Eastern Conference Championship final at 3 wins apiece.

The Warriors had a 2-1 lead at the end of the first period, with the game tied 2-2 heading into the third. Saskatoon's Charlie Wright scored early in the third period, with Moose Jaw's Rilen Kovacevic evening the score 3-3, taking the game to overtime.

They'll either be playing for a championship on Sunday or hoping to force a game7. 

The Moose Jaw Warriors are in Saskatoon tonight for Game 5 of the WHL Eastern Conference Championship. The teams are tied at two wins apiece. Puck drop is at 7, and you can catch all the action on Country 100 with the Voice of the Warriors James Gallo, starting with the Pregame show at 6:40.

The Warriors will be back at the Hangar on Sunday at 2 p.m. for game 6, and there's only a handful of seated tickets left.

Sports Round-Up: Wednesday, May 1

The Moose Jaw Warriors have a 2 games-to-one series lead after beating the Saskatoon Blades 3-1 last night at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.

The Blades scored first, but Warriors' Atley Calvert replied with a goal early in the second period, Martin Rysavy scored the game-winner 7:14 into the third, and Captain Denton Mateychuk scored on an empty net for the insurance goal.

Warriors Goalie Jackson Unger made 31 saves during last night's game.
