There are a ton of animals looking for their forever home and CHVN and Classic 107 are going to be live on location at Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter at 2727 Portage Avenue on Saturday, March 16, from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. 

Michelle Caughy has been at Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter for 25 years and has loved every minute of it. "We help a lot of animals and that's been my life's work, so to take part in it is quite the privilege."

Starting as Manitoba's first registered charity no-kill shelter, they've paved the way for multiple others.

Most dog-owners know from experience that their canine companion appreciates a healthy diet, friendly company and regular outdoor walks. But what about mental stimulation?

“We offer services such as play groups, pack walks and we also condition them on treadmills,” says Kristin Sapinski, owner of Prairielands Kennel. “The treadmill provides really good mental and physical exercise for dogs.”

If you have ever taken a basic First Aid course, you know the importance of CPR. 

CPR is for when someone’s heart has stopped beating.  In fact, the person can even be legally declared dead.  

The heart can’t beat on its own, the person cannot “will it” or work their heart to beat. It can only beat with the help of someone else, the person giving CPR. 

But what happens after someone has performed CPR?

The Bible tells us we are like the person in need of CPR. We are legally dead “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, Ephesians 2:1” 

International Women's Day is this Friday, March 8th – the perfect day for Agape House to host its annual Purple Gala.

Agape House provides a safe space and 24/7 support to those experiencing domestic violence in southeastern Manitoba.

The family entertainment business is making a comeback, and two brothers want to get in on the action early. 

Andrew and Trevor Rempel have converted a 3,800 square-foot space in the Altona Mall to create The Warehouse, a family entertainment centre (FEC) filled with arcade games and more. 

On March 1st, the beloved Muscle Matters name will be no more. But fans of the spa-like wellness studio can rest assured knowing they’re still here – with a beautiful new look and name! 

Owner Lindsay Penner explains, “The name Muscle Matters was great when we were solely a massage therapy business. But we’ve grown and by now there are just as many people on the esthetic side as there are in massage. I realized our name needed to grow too. Our new name, Embody Wellness Studio and Clinic, pulls it all together.”

Our government recently made the decision not to remit the carbon tax on natural gas used by residential SaskEnergy customers. This is a decision we do not take lightly, and we recognize it may come with consequences.

When he opened the doors to Synergy Collaborative Health in 2018, Dr. Dave Sinha had a clear vision of what healthcare in Cochrane was missing, and a plan to offer something different, a philosophy he sums up simply as “Care. Comfort. Cure.”

Born and raised in Calgary, Dr. Sinha often visited Cochrane with his family, eventually working in various local clinics in the community. During these visits, it became apparent the town was grossly under-serviced and the idea for a different approach to healthcare was born.
