The Province of Manitoba has declared the week of September 25th to October 1st, 2023, as School Support Staff Recognition Week.

CUPE represents school support staff, including education assistants, custodians, cleaners, school bus drivers, library technicians, intercultural and community liaisons, tradespersons, office administrative staff, and more in 25 school divisions across Manitoba.

It happened a year ago on September 15th 2022.   

One of those profound moments that will be bookmarked in my memory bank for the rest of my life.

Now celebrating 75 years in business, Redhead Equipment continues to thrive and expand their presence in Saskatchewan.

In 2018, Redhead Equipment celebrated the acquisition of Norsask Farm Equipment Ltd, an agricultural and powersports equipment dealer in North Battleford. That move created Redhead Equipment's eighth location in Saskatchewan, joining the seven other branches located in Estevan, Lloydminster, Melfort, Prince Albert, Regina, Saskatoon and Swift Current.

Pharmasave in Steinbach continues its One Year Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, September 16.

The store itself will mark Pharmasave brand products down 30% and M&M products down 20%. Everyone who comes by the store between 10 am and 2 pm on all three days will also be treated to cake and coffee.

It all started decades ago with Mr. Peter Elias, on his yard in a small garage in Blumenfeld. A one-man woodworking shop creating kitchen cabinets for himself, and then, a few friends. And here we are today, with Elias Woodwork celebrating its 40th anniversary.

Like any new business owner, Scott Penner admits there were the natural jitters as his Pharmasave franchise launched a year ago. But he also recognized the chance to provide a unique service to Steinbach and the surrounding area. 

“Any time you start a business, there’s always uncertainty as to how it will go,” he says. “We saw and felt there was an opportunity to provide the kind of service we wanted to offer as a pharmacy in town.” 

A year later, Pharmasave has not only found its feet in the southeast but also enjoyed sustained, robust growth.
