A day at the Niverville Smokemaster BBQ Competition in photos
The Smokemaster BBQ Competition took place in Niverville on Saturday and there were a lot of great dishes served.
They had kids competing in the morning and adults in the afternoon. The very best team of the day received not only a trophy and a cheque, but also the opportunity to compete in the World Food Championships in Dallas.

A day at the Gardenton Ukrainian Festival in photos
The Ukrainian Festival in Gardenton was a blast yesterday. There were many impressive performances, delicious homemade Ukrainian cuisine, and plenty of perogies to enjoy.
They started out the day with a church service on the stage, and then went into the performances in the afternoon. They had a supper and dance that went on until 1am with music by Wild Ridge.
A day at the Grunthal Buckles & Boots event in photos
The Buckles & Boots rodeo and dance took place in Grunthal yesterday. There were beer gardens, incredible cowboys and cowgirls, and the night ended with live music from Quinton Blair.
Today they are back for more fun with a Truck Show and Shine from 12pm-5pm and another rodeo starting at 1pm. They’ll have bareback riding, bull riding, steer wrestling, barrel racing and more!

We asked to see photos of you and your family in relaxation mode in the last round of Show Us Your Summer, and you are relaxing well! We received photos of many of you enjoying being outside at the lake, floating in pools, fishing, sitting around fires.
Samantha shared a photo of relaxation time in a backyard paddling pool and her photo was randomly chosen to win the Barkman Stackstone Firepit from McMunn & Yates Building Supplies.
A day at Mitchell and Area Fun Days in photos
Mitchell and Area Fun Days was yesterday and they started the day with a free pancake breakfast, and later on in the day there was face painting, balloon artists, kids bouncers, bubble soccer, a petting zoo, and a magic show.
They also had a draw for a PS5, bingo with prizes, and various vendors came out for the day.
They had a chicken BBQ supper and the Cracked Egg Shell and Young & Haggard came out to play. The day ended with fireworks around 11PM.
The community was really excited for Mitchell Fun Days this year after not having it for the last two years.
A lot of interest at the Heritage Car Show on Saturday at MHV
The Heritage Car Show drew quite a crowd Saturday at the Mennonite Heritage Village in Steinbach.
The event included a swap meet, which Robert Goertzen says connects people in search of car parts with people who have parts to spare.
“There’s always a few people who are able to find that part that's so hard to get for their own vehicle,” he says. “So, it’s a way of helping each other out.”
Fun Friday evening with IRAL Colour Fest in Steinbach
AD Penner Park in Steinbach was a colourful sight on Friday evening as people came out for the first ever IRAL Colour Fest.
IRAL stands for International Reggae Afro Latin.
The festival was put on by Nevillle Hamilton, a local musician, and one of the owners of Di Reggae Grill.
He says this event was a great way to bring people together with music and fun activities.

Kaity Oakley's photo was randomly chosen and she won a one night stay in a Lakefront Cabin and 2 rounds of Golf including Cart at Lake of the Sand Hills Golf Course.
The St. Labre 200 in photos
The weather was sunny with a cool breeze at St. Labre this weekend, perfect for being outdoors. The racers did amazing and it was exciting to see everyone out on the tracks this year.
In-between races there were also boot tosses and excavator rodeos. The kids also enjoyed the kids-zone with bouncers, sand pit, and arts and crafts.
