With great sadness, we announce that our husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend, Arthur “Art” Ammeter, left us at the age of 82 to be with his Saviour and Lord on September 2, 2025, at the Portage District General Hospital.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Debbie Ammeter (Mostowy) of Elie, Manitoba; his children: Carly (Glen) Nowell of Bedford, NS, and Rebecca (Mark) Corrigan of Saskatoon, SK; his grandchildren: Sylvia and James Nowell and Keziah, Nizanna, and Biruk Corrigan.

With his family by his side, Joseph Allard passed away on September 8, 2025, at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 75 years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children Cordelia Allard (Dean Favell), granddaughter Jade and great granddaughter Emily, Clarise Allard, granddaughters Sara Allard-McKinnon and Selena Allard and Joey Allard (Melissa) Ducharme, grandson Austin Turenne; siblings Floran “Porky” (Linda) Allard, Clarence “Nok-Yay” Allard and Darlene (Robert) Perreault; along with several nieces and nephews.

With sadness we announce the passing of Robert Steeden on August 31, 2025 at his home at the age of 55 years.

Peacefully Peter Cebrij passed away on September 4, 2025, with family by his side at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 78 years.

Left to mourn his passing are his children Nadia (Ryan), Holly (Rod), Gina (Karl) and Jay; grandchildren Mila, Anna, Alyssa, Robyn and Santee; brother Mike; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Peter was predeceased by his parents Pearl and Wasyl Cebry and sister Anna.

Edwin Winfield Ross
September 22, 1945 – September 2, 2025

Edwin Ross, 79, of Portage la Prairie, passed away at home in the early morning of September 2nd, 2025.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Gloria; his children, Chad and Sheryl and his grandson Rayne (Nicole). He also leaves behind his sister Iris Grasby (Grenville) and brother Jim Ross (Lois); and sisters-in-law Marilyn McCasin and Bev Reese, as well as an extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Lynn Harry Switzer passed away at the Lions Prairie Manor in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, on Wednesday, August 20th, with his wife and brother at his side.

Peacefully on August 18, 2025, Wilmer Fingas passed away at the Portage and District Hospital at the age of 92 years.

Wilmer was predeceased by his wife, Victoria. He is survived by his son Cameron and wife Diane, son Kim and wife Kimberley, daughter Michelle and husband Dwight; his grandchildren Jarett (Jacqueline), Dana (Jordy), Tracey (Blaine), Kelley (Brook), and Taylor (Joelle); as well as his great grandchildren Lane, Quinn, Ellie, Florence and Attley.

With heavy hearts and deep sadness, we regret to share that Shona Cote passed away peacefully at age 64 on August 6, 2025, with family by her side.

Shona was predeceased by her grandparents, Gerald Moyse and Olive McCorrister, her parents, William (Bill) and Elizabeth Henry, and her siblings, Darryl, David, and Sandy.

With sadness we announce the passing of Myrtle MacIntosh on August 13, 2025 with family by her side at the Portage District General Hospital the age of 89 years.

With sadness we announce the passing of Betty McFarlane on August 12, 2025 at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 96 years.
