Tee off to support CAMPS program
Residents can help the local Chinook Alternate Middle Plus School (CAMPS) program while improving their golf game at the upcoming CAMPS Golf Tournament taking place on June 1st.

Production of "New Blood" comes to local stage
Students from Strathcona High School will be taking to the stage at the Living Sky Casino Events Center tonight with their production of "New Blood".
The production has been arranged by the Swift Current Truth and Reconciliation Committee and deals with the topic of residential schools as Curriculum Coordinator for the Chinook School Division, Curtis Biem explains.
"The topic is directly about residential schools so that was behind the truth and reconciliation process. So when we have something that meets those needs we found it was a really good opportunity."
Volunteers required as need for Meals on Wheels program rises
The local Meals on Wheels program is currently in need of some volunteers to help deliver daily meals.
Jolene Martin, Volunteer Coordinator with the Saskatchewan Health Authority details the increased need for the program in the city.
"Here in Swift Current, we have four routes and close to 55 clients. Probably between 1000-1200 meals a month go out."
Martin adds there is no set amount of commitment.
Trading Post returns to its original format next week
We've heard all your comments and suggestions regarding the changes to our Trading Post format and as a result, we will be returning to the original Trading Post format as of the week of January 15th.
Starting next week, Trading Post will air on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 11:30 am-12:00 pm.
The return to the original format will mean the removal of music and the 30-minute segment will be exclusively for phone calls, emails, and texts relating to items to buy, sell, and trade. There will still be two commercial breaks during the feature.

Living Sky Casino will be looking it's finest this evening as it celebrates 15 years in the southwest.
Residents are invited to attend and take part in this evening's festivities which will include everything from a "Blizzards of Cash" event to appetizers to the premiere of the film "All in The SIGA Story" as General Manager for the casino Ashley Peterson explains.

A local roller derby star is heading to France to compete in the junior world cup of roller derby for Canada and is appealing to locals' appetites to raise funds for the trip.
Ella Toles, member of the Redneck Betties will be holding the event next week as her mother and fellow teammate Carisma Toles explains.
"We are doing a burger buffet fundraiser for Ella Toles who is heading off to France for the roller derby world cup. It is on Monday July 10th from 6:00-7:30pm at the Buffalo Brew Pub."
