Project Patio visits Cruisin' the Fort Car Show

Project Patio cruised down to the car show at the Fort la Reine Museum on Sunday. There were many vintage cars, trucks, and motorbikes to check out, along with various food and drink vendors at the event. Ray Askin notes there were over 130 cars at the Show and Shine, and that he was happy with the turnout of the event. People from all over Manitoba came down to check out the event and show off their vintage cruisers. Although it was a cloudy day, that didn’t stop the great energy at the show, followed by many smiles shared beside the unique cars.

Project Patio began today in MacGregor at the Bull Bash. People from all over Canada and other parts of the world attended this bull-bashing extravaganza. It was clear that everyone was eager to get out and enjoy summer again, as this was one of the first events to kick off the season. The event featured some intense bull riders taking on some wild bulls. The bull bash is just the start of our summer adventures. We plan to visit as many fairs, festivals, and events as possible in the surrounding area and the Interlake to see what they offer.

Portage’s Potato Fest celebrates the big 19!

Today was the big day for the 19th Portage la Prairie Potato Festival. Big sponsors McCain’s and Simplot gave out free fries for most of the day and it was packed. Lines all day going so long they almost crossed the road. They even donated some great prizes, a 4K TV, Barbecue and giant cooler. Even though I sadly didn’t win any of them, I’m very happy to have donated to Central Plains Cancer Services to get my entries. Not to mention the Baby Spud contest, with a handful of young kids dressed up in potato related costumes and 3 of them winning out.
