Weyburn RCMP asking people to keep an eye out for stolen truck and trailer headed south
The Weyburn RCMP are sending out a message to people around the area that a truck and trailer have been stolen and may be heading south.
On Monday, October 7, a black coloured dual wheeled 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 Megacab (License plate 640 MPD) with an attached black coloured 40-foot Diamond C gooseneck trailer (License plate 624 MWB) was stolen from a Pangman business.
Damage from extreme wind gusts results in 15 claims in southeast
Estevan saw a lot of wind over the start of October, with warnings going out last week on two separate days.
That saw winds that whipped up the southeast to the point that many people reported damage to their property, mostly thanks to flying debris.

Phil Smith, who was born in Arcola and grew up in Carlyle, currently works as a cook in the food services industry. He was announced as the candidate back in September as the Saskatchewan NDP were preparing for the writ to drop.

A newly released document shows federal cabinet ministers were warned in May 2022 that hostile states were targeting Canada's strategic interests, the integrity of Canadian institutions and democratic processes, and the ability of the public to exercise Charter-protected rights and freedoms.
The document is a summary of one of four memorandums to cabinet, generally considered closely held confidences, that were provided to a federal commission of inquiry into foreign interference as part of its terms of reference.
Ottawa invests more money in organic research
The Federal government has announced over $6.8 million over five years for the Organic Science Cluster is geared to research and advancing sustainable practices.
Allison Squires is president of the Canadian Organic Growers says the organic sector is unique in that it encompasses everything from aquaculture to cranberries to horticulture and field crops.

EPS was at the scene of a disturbance at a residence on the south side of the city. Members spoke to the people involved and defused the situation, with the Police and Crisis Team engaging individuals with support services.
Election workers needed as polls opening soon for the province
Provincial elections are getting closer for Saskatchewan with those set to take place close to the end of the month.
The work of a provincial election takes a lot of people, with workers going to municipalities all over the province to make sure votes are counted properly.
This year the Estevan area is seeing a stronger need for those workers, with Elections Saskatchewan Spokesperson Tim Kydd explaining where the gaps are.
