Red Deer RCMP arrest suspect linked to vehicle theft from local business
On Oct. 20, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Red Deer RCMP received a notification that a vehicle had been stolen while the owner was shopping at a business located in South Red Deer.
GPS tracking allowed officers to track the vehicle.
With the assistance of Innisfail RCMP, Blackfalds RCMP, Red Deer RCMP General Investigations Section and Police Dog Services, the driver of the vehicle was arrested.
Jordan Kyle Glasgow, a 24-year-old resident of Red Deer, has been charged with the following offences:
Medals of Bravery awarded to pair of Central Albertans
On Oct. 24, Governor General of Canada Mary Simon presented 38 Decorations for Bravery during a ceremony that was held at Rideau Hall in Ottawa.
Two of the recipients were from Central Alberta including Corporal Brandon Tobin, M.B. of Drayton Valley and Corporal Guy Johnson, M.B. of Red Deer.

Harvest wraps up ahead of schedule
Harvest for major crops has wrapped up in Central Alberta as favourable weather in August and September has allowed harvest to progress at a record pace.
Only about one per cent of crops remain across the province, most of that is oats and canola.
Harvest is well ahead of the provincial 5-year average of 93 per cent and the 10-year average of 87 per cent for this time of year.
Agriculture Financial Services Corporation says crop yields are averaging 83.6 per cent of the 5-year average in the Central Region.
Canada unbeaten on Sunday at Pan Continental Curling Championships
Canada is undefeated at the Pan Continental Curling Championships in Lacombe.
Brad Gushue opened the tournament with a 10-3 win over Korea on Sunday and followed that up with a 17-1 win over Chinese Taipei in the late draw.
Rachel Homan is off to a 1-0 start after beating the United States 9-2.
Homan will take on Chinese Taipei at 9 a.m. this morning and will wrap up the day at 7 p.m. against China.
Gushue's lone game today is against New Zealand at 2 p.m.
All games take place at the Gary Moe Auto Group Sportsplex in Lacombe.
Red Deer City Council to discuss delaying 2025 Capital Budget
The City of Red Deer will hold its Organizational Meeting and Regular City Council Meeting on Monday, Oct. 28 starting at 10:30 a.m.
The Organizational Meeting is expected to conclude before lunch, and the Regular City Council meeting is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
