This year's Little Britches Parade Route has been revealed
The 67th annual Little Britches Parade in downtown High River is now just a few weeks away.
The extravaganza rolls through town on Saturday, May 17.
This year's theme is a salute to educators, and the organizing committee is urging everyone to register their floats and entries sooner rather than later.
With the parade route map out now, it increases the excitement and urgency to get registered and involved in the nearly seven-decade-long tradition.

Elections Canada has released more data on Canada's record-shattering advance polling weekend.
An estimated 7.3 million people voted in advance from April 18 to 21.
That's a 25 per cent increase compared to 2021, which saw 5.8 advance polling ballots cast.

RCMP seek suspect after hit and run... into a building
Earlier this month, on Saturday, April 5, High River RCMP responded to a hit and run.
What makes it so unusual is that the hit and run happened to a building in downtown High River.
Apparently, a vehicle drove into a business located on Macleod Trail and then backed up and drove away.
The RCMP is looking for help identifying the suspect or suspects involved, along with the vehicle.
It's believed the vehicle has significant front-end damage.
AHS issues public alert after another measles case confirmed in Taber
Alberta Health Services (AHS) has confirmed another case of measles in the South Zone.
The case was in Taber, with potential exposures at the Taber Health Centre on April 16.
According to AHS, individuals who were at the centre's emergency department between midnight and 3:40 a.m. may have been exposed to measles.
Anyone who was potentially exposed who was born after 1970 or has received less than two measles vaccines is advised to monitor for symptoms and review their immunization records.

The annual Hike for Hospice Hustle is a tradition for many in the Foothills, including 83-year-old Margaret Thiessen of High River.
Thiessen is gearing up for her fourth hike on May 4, 2025, and has raised over $20,000 since first joining the event in 2019.
After participating again in 2023 and 2024, this is set to be her last, at least when it comes to walking in the hike itself.

Suspect comments on own RCMP wanted post on Facebook
An RCMP social media post about a wanted suspect is drawing extra attention after the suspect himself appeared to leave a comment.
Among the suspects included in the Alberta RCMP's April 23 Wanted Wednesday posts is Camron Leo Rasmussen.
Shortly after it went up, a comment appeared from a profile under his name that simply read: “Booo 👻”
Community joins in tipi painting at Highwood High
Local students and families were invited to help paint a tipi at École Secondaire Highwood High School this week.
The tipi was transferred to the school by the Stoney Nakoda First Nation through Elder Keith Lefthand back in fall 2023.
Lefthand also came up with the design, which features mountains, stars, a horse, and flowers around the tipi's entrance.
