Town of Claresholm is doing a controlled burn today
If you see smoke in the Claresholm area today, it may just be the town taking care of some leftover compost.
The Town took to Facebook today to let people know that they will be burning a compost pile.
The compost pile is at the northeast corner of town.
This is a controlled burn, and the Claresholm Fire Department is aware of this fire.

A pedestrian was killed in a collision in Okotoks last night
The Okotoks RCMP were called to a collision involving pedestrians last night.
The collision occurred on 15th Street near the Okotoks Badminton Center, causing a portion of the road to be closed for some time.
After investigating the collision, it was determined that a passenger vehicle was heading north on 15th Street when they hit two pedestrians who were believed to be walking on the road.
Gleichen Solar Project is now under construction
A $33 million solar project near Gleichen is underway.
The Gleichen Solar Project is expected to produce 13 megawatts of energy once it's completed.
It's a collaboration between Ermineskin Cree Nation and TIU Canada with support from the Smart Renewables and Electrification Pathways Program (SREP) from the Government of Canada.

The Okotoks RCMP are currently on scene of a serious motor vehicle collisions involving two pedestrians.
The collision occurred on 15th Street near the Okotoks Badminton Centre.
15th Street between 338 Ave East and 322 Ave East will be closed for some time while the RCMP Collision Reconstructionist is enroute.
They are asking people to stay away from the area.
