Funding through the Affordable Housing Partnership Program (AHPP) will be allocated for the construction of a 40-unit apartment building in the D’Arcy neighbourhood for AISH recipients and those with modest incomes.

Province announces $3.3 million affordable housing investment for Okotoks
An affordable housing investment from the federal and Alberta governments is providing millions for affordable housing in Okotoks.
The $203 million investment was announced earlier this month, with the funding to support 25 affordable housing projects across Alberta through Alberta's Affordable Housing Partnership Program.
Over 2,300 affordable housing units are expected to be built as a result.
It includes $3.3 million for Westwinds Communities for housing units in Okotoks.
The second annual High River Stampede Breakfast gets rolling this Saturday
The second annual High River Stampede Breakfast was so popular last year that they've expanded and moved into George Lane Memorial Park.
The all-day event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. this year, and there are a lot more things to do, see and eat.
It also lines up with the Battle of the Foothills chuckwagon races that are running at the High River Ag grounds this weekend.
Presented by Centered on Wellness and 99.7 Sun Country, the Stampede Breakfast is free, and you can even enter a pancake-eating contest.
Foothills County road damaged due to rainfall is being repaired
A road in Foothills County sustained damage as a result of recent excessive rainfall.
Due to the damage, crews will be repairing Plummers Road, between 288 Street West and 306 Street West, but road access will remain open.
While the road will be open while the work is completed, it will be reduced to single-lane traffic for approximately the next two weeks.
There are signs in place, but Foothills County is recommending that people detour around the area if possible.
If you are driving through the area, use caution and expect minor delays.
Diamond Valley resident donates house for fire training
Members of Diamond Valley Fire Rescue (DVFR) are running training scenarios in a soon-to-be-demolished house.
A resident has allowed DVFR to use the building for training throughout the summer, before it’s demolished.
Wednesday night’s training focused on simulated fire attack, in addition to search and rescue drills.
AHS investigating 88 cases of illness, 2 hospitalizations potentially linked to Saskatoon Farm
Alberta Health Services (AHS) has ordered the closure of Saskatoon Farm's food facilities and is investigating more than 80 reports of illness and two hospitalizations potentially linked to the business.
The investigation began after AHS received several reports of illness from individuals who ate at Saskatoon Farm on July 15 and 16.
An inspector collected samples from the food preparation areas and water system for testing on July 19. Saskatoon Farm has stated it is cooperating with the investigation.
