A bridge replacement will happen in Willow Creek, causing delays
A bridge will be replaced in the M.D. of Willow Creek, and delays can be expected.
To help enhance and maintain the infrastructure and transportation network in Willow Creek, they will be doing some construction to replace a bridge at Range Road 295 at NE 36-14-30-W4M.
The work is scheduled to begin on July 14, and continue for roughly two weeks.
In order to avoid delays, people are advised to avoid travelling on this stretch of road while the construction is happening and use a different route.
Mechanical issues force cancellation of Thursday swimming lessons at Diamond Valley pool
Swimming lessons at the Dr. Lander Memorial Swimming Pool have been cancelled today (July 10) due to mechanical issues.
As a result of boiler issues, the water temperature dropped overnight and with the cool weather and rain, conditions are not suitable for lessons.
Boiler repairs are scheduled today, and participants will receive a credit for the cancellation.
$30,000 goal set for this year's Terry Fox Run in Okotoks
The 2025 Okotoks Terry Fox Run is a couple of months away, but runners and teams can now register for the event.
This year's run is scheduled for Sunday, September 14, and like last year, will start at Sheep River Park near the Lions Campground.
Also returning is the free BBQ, featuring hot dogs, drinks, and snacks, courtesy of the local Fountain Tire, Sobeys, and Save-On-Foods.
A new feature of this year’s run is the introduction of a $30,000 fundraising goal.
The target was inspired by Terry Fox’s goal for his Marathon of Hope in 1980.
