Carnie's Comments - So, you want to buy a house?

Carnie's Comments

We're sharing the latest numbers today from the Saskatchewan Real Estate Association.

Sales were strong in November but a lack of inventory is an issue, especially when it comes to homes priced below $400,000.

You see, the average yearly income in Canada in 2023 is between $55,000 and $60,000. So, the average Canadian can't afford to buy a house that's on the market for more than $400,000.

Saving burrowing owls from the endangered species list

Did you know it costs about $400.00 to feed one burrowing owl for a year?

Did you know you can adopt an owl at the Saskatchewan Burrowing Owl Interpretive Centre in Moose Jaw for an entire year for just $100.00?

Did you know migrating burrowing owls have been found as far away as Mexico?

These are just a few things we've learned from Lori Johnson, coordinator at the Saskatchewan Burrowing Owl Interpretive Centre and Alex Froese from the Manitoba Burrowing Owl Recovery Program.
