Terriers add veteran depth
The Portage Terriers have acquired F Zev Podolski (02) from the Toronto Jr. Canadiens (OJHL) in exchange for Future Considerations.
Podolski (6’0, 183lbs) had 30 points in 45 games last season with the Canadiens. The Toronto product added 10 points in 14 playoff games. Podolksi started this season with the El Paso Rhino’s of the NAHL and had four points in 11 games.
Terrier head coach and GM Blake Spiller looks forward to having him in the lineup. “Zev will bring skill and speed to our forward group.”
Terriers win big in Virden
The Portage Terriers dominated the Virden Oil Capitals 8-3 Thursday night for their fifth win of the season. A four goal outburst from the Terriers in the second period put the game out of reach.
Portage jumped out of the gate strong scoring halfway through the first period. Jamie Valentino scored for the second game in a row, right as a power play expired. Daniel Siso then fired a shot bar down on the power play to increase the lead to 2-0 Portage.
