Another round with Mother Nature?

If you thought we had enough snow Mother Nature would say you're wrong.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Humboldt and surrounding areas.

"Snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 25 cm is expected. Snow will begin Saturday morning near the Alberta border and reach the Manitoba border by late Saturday afternoon. For most areas, accumulating snow will taper off on Sunday morning. For east-central areas of the province, the heavy snow will linger into Sunday evening."

Update: Increased Police presence 11th street Humboldt

The RCMP provided an update on the situation:

One person has been arrested. The significant police presence is no longer in place. The investigation continues and further updates will be provided when available.


The Humboldt RCMP are advising of an increased police presence on 11th Street in Humboldt, SK in relation to an ongoing investigation.

People are asked to avoid the areas where police are present and follow any police direction provided. 

Broncos head north to La Ronge

This weekend will mark the lone trip to La Ronge during the 2024-25 regular season for the Humboldt Broncos as they begin a two-game set against the Ice Wolves on Friday night.  

Coverage on Bolt FM begins at 7:15, with the opening faceoff is 7:30. 

After tonight’s game, the two teams will finish off the back-to-back set on Saturday afternoon. Pregame coverage begins at 2:15, with the opening faceoff at 2:30.

'Immoral depravity': Two men convicted in case of frozen migrant family in Manitoba

A jury deliberated for about an hour Friday before convicting two men on human smuggling charges in a case where a family from India froze to death in Manitoba while trying to walk across the Canada-U.S. border.

Steve Shand of Florida and Harshkumar Patel, an Indian national arrested in Chicago, were each found guilty on all four counts they faced related to bringing unauthorized people into the U.S., transporting them and profiting from it.

WEEKEND UPDATE: Hometown Christmas Market brings the artistry of the season to Humboldt

Another sure sign of the Christmas season rolling around is the upcoming Hometown Christmas Market at the Humboldt Legion Hall. The event is a shoppers’ staple with the best in local crafts and artistry from creators in and around Humboldt. The event is on November 23 and 24.  

The Market serves as a major fundraiser for the Legion and is important to ensure the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the facility.

WESK hosts Rural Connect in Watson, an evening of information for women entrepreneurs

WESK stands for Women Entrepreneurs in Saskatchewan, and the organization is getting set to host a WESK Connect event in Watson on November 28 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. It takes place at 106 Highway 6 south in Watson, a large grey building. The meet and greet event involves a panel discussion and networking among regional women business leaders and those who are considering an entrepreneurial entry.
