Saskatchewan crop report an important part of keeping province informed

These weekly reports are put together by volunteers who report the conditions on their own farms to give the province a clearer picture.

Name That Tune: week seven

Week seven of Name That Tune was a success and Gabe Zerbin walked away with a gift card to Humboldt Sobeys.

He was the first to text in with the correct song scoring him a $50.00 Humboldt Sobeys gift card and chose to stay safe and walk away. Which was the correct move as the next song was a hard one for him.

Listen to the replay below.

You could be next to play tune in Friday mornings to hear the song of the day.

Phase Two of Highway 5 improvement project reaches halfway point of completion

Phase Two of a project that aims to improve safety, sightlines, and highway quality is now at the halfway point of completion.

The Province’s Highway 5 Improvement Project began last June, and Phase Two is expected to wrap up in summer of 2025.

Once complete, drivers will notice new shoulder widening, resurfacing, and one set of new passing lanes around the St. Denis area.

Travis Hryniuk, Reeve of the rural municipality of Grant, says getting the highway widened will, hopefully, enhance safety and prevent potential accidents.

Lawyer Jessica Reed said property owners in the townsite in Jasper National Park own their buildings but, unlike other municipalities, don’t own the land they sit on.

The Canadian Football League (CFL) prides itself on wild and unpredictable finishes and that could just summarize overtime in last night's Saskatchewan Roughriders and Ottawa Redblacks game.

It ended in a 22-22 tie, but there were plenty of hijinks during extra time.

Tied 13-13 after regulation, Ottawa scored on their opening possession to take a 19-13.
