Marysburg Royals get baseball season started with weekend youth camps
It’s going to be a great weekend to get outside for some baseball training. That’s what’s lined up for youth ball players at the Marysburg Field when youth ball players gather for the 14th Marysburg Royals Ball Camp. The camp goes with two days, this Saturday, May 3 and Sunday the 4th.
Organizer Curtis Strueby says many players have passed through the camps over the years, and some have in fact returned to add to the training regimen.
Humboldt RCMP seeking information about a hit and run incident
Humboldt RCMP is asking help from the public in identifying a person or vehicle of interest in regard to a hit and run incident.
On April 4th, a hit and run occurred to a parked vehicle at a business on the west end of Humboldt.

Warm wave on the way for the weekend
A shift to southerly winds and an incoming high-pressure system is going to signal a turnaround in temperatures heading into the weekend. A splash of summer is on the way with the potential for a 30-degree Saturday.
The week begins to warm up on Tuesday.
SHA announces high risk COVID-19 vaccination availability
The Saskatchewan Health Authority is offering an additional COVID-19 vaccine dose for individuals at severe risk of illness and negative outcomes due to the virus. The vaccine offer is available until Junne 14, 2025.
Individuals are advised to take advantage of the additional dose in the following cases:

Humboldt's best inducted into Hall of Fame at Mark of Excellence Awards
Business community members were decked out in their finery on Friday, April 25 for the Humboldt and District Chamber of Commerce Mark of Excellence Awards. Awards were handed out in numerous categories to local businesses that met challenges and excelled in certain criteria.
Along with the awards came the induction of this year's Business Hall of Famers.
Alberta irrigation farmers strive for efficiencies to battle through droughts
Southern Alberta irrigators enter the growing season with full reservoirs following the much drier conditions of previous years.
Irrigation reservoirs in southern Alberta are looking a lot better than they have in recent years.
“We are going into the year with full reservoirs, which is nice, especially since the snowpack in the mountains is still in that lower quartile,” said Alex Ostrop, chair of the Alberta Irrigation Districts Association (AIDA) and board member of the St. Mary River Irrigation District (SMRID).
Election day in Canada
We will find out the results of the 45th general election in Canada later today.
Leading up to the election, advance polls saw record numbers. 7,280,975 citizens utilized the advance polls, which was an increase from 5,852,391 in 2021.
206,754 of those voters were from Saskatchewan.
Inside of the Carlton Trail-Eagle Creek riding, 16,385 people used advance polls.

2025 AgriStability deadline extended
The federal government, provinces, and territories have made a key change to AgriStability that will benefit producers.
Given the pressures and uncertainty facing the agricultural sector, they have agreed to extend the 2025 AgriStability enrolment deadline from April 30th to July 31st.
The extension gives producers more time to evaluate their needs and the potential impact to their farming operation for production losses, increased costs, and changing market conditions.
This is the second change to the program as farmers deal with tariff issues.
Voters go to the polls today after a 35-day election campaign packed with promises
After a short, intense and heated election campaign of just 35 days, Canadians go to the polls today to elect a new federal government.
Liberal Leader Mark Carney, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre and NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh spent weeks pitching their cases to voters.
Carney, the former central banker and political neophyte, presented himself as a safe pair of hands for a country threatened by U.S. President Donald Trump, while Poilievre focused on addressing crime and the high cost of living and Singh pushed to protect social programs he argued are under threat.
