RCMP respond to break-ins in Portage la Praire
The RCMP is looking for leads regarding two attempted break-ins earlier this month.
On September 4, Portage la Prairie RCMP received a report of an attempted break and enter into a shed in the 1000 block of Crescent Road sometime overnight.
The suspect was not able to gain entry but caused damage in trying to gain entry.
On September 6, just before 4:00 p.m., Portage la Prairie RCMP received a call that a residence in the 400 block of 6th Avenue NE was broken into sometime after 1:30 p.m.

Family farming success: Dalrymple’s pasture and corn crops flourish after challenging start
Darren Dalrymple of Dalrymple Enterprises, a local farm, has shared the positives about this year's harvest despite facing some initial weather-related challenges. He oversees the family-run business alongside his sons, and addressed the concerns they had earlier in the year.
"It started last winter when there wasn't much snow, we had new dugouts at the pastures and we were concerned that they wouldn't be filled enough and have enough water for the summer. But that all changed in late spring with some snowfall, and good rains."
Poilievre to meet with caucus Sunday ahead of return of Parliament this week
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre will gather with his caucus on Parliament Hill today as he prepares to make another push to topple the Liberal government as early as next week.
The one-day caucus meeting ahead of the return of Parliament Monday will begin with a public address by Poilievre, who has maintained his party's commanding lead in the polls throughout the summer.

Air Canada, pilots reach tentative deal, averting work stoppage
Passengers with plans to fly on Canada's largest airline can breathe a sigh of relief after Air Canada said Sunday it has reached a tentative agreement with the union representing more than 5,200 of its pilots.
The news of a preliminary deal with the Air Line Pilots Association came shortly after midnight on Sunday when the airline issued a press release just days ahead of a potential work stoppage for Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge.
The tentative deal averts a strike or lockout that could have begun on Wednesday, with flight cancellations expected before then.
