Estevan city councillor Travis Frank announced Friday that he will not be seeking another term in the November 2024 municipal election.

”I am so grateful to have been elected to serve the community for the past two terms, starting out as the youngest member known to have been elected to Estevan City Council. Now, as my wife and I shift our focus to growing our respective businesses and our family, I have decided that it is time to let someone new take my seat with fresh new ideas to help move Estevan forward,” he wrote in a news release.

Two Fillmore residents are facing charges after a vehicle that was stolen from Weyburn was located with a firearm.

The Weyburn RCMP investigated the report of the stolen vehicle, which allegedly happened between December 4 and 22.

Police found the vehicle at a residence in Fillmore, which contained a firearm.

35-year-old Curtis Armstrong and 32-year-old Cherrena Bryer were arrested at the scene and charged with the following offences:

The Saskatchewan government announced Thursday that it will be removing the federal carbon tax from home heating costs on SaskEnergy bills starting January 1, in addition to its announcement from around a month ago that it would be removed from home heating costs on SaskPower bills.
