Missing Thompson woman safely located

RCMP in Manitoba say that a woman who had not been seen since the start of the month has been found safe.

On December 11, 2024, at 3:20 pm, Thompson RCMP received a report of a missing 34-year-old female from a residence located in Thompson.

Mounties say that the woman was last seen by members of her family on December 4 and had not been in contact with anyone since that time.

Police put out a missing person alert on Friday, December 13, asking for help in finding her. They said it was possible she may be in Winnipeg.

Extreme cold warning issued for parts of province, wind chills of -40 expected

Parts of southern Manitoba are bracing for frigid weather as an arctic air mass moves in on Tuesday evening.

Temperatures are expected to drop to -30 or colder on Tuesday evening for much of western Manitoba. Combined with northerly winds, wind chill values of -40 or colder are expected for areas that include Virden, Brandon, Killarney, and Dauphin.
