Streetlight falls on car in Morden 

City of Morden staff, Morden Police and Manitoba Hydro attended a scene last week on Stephen St, when a street light standard fell onto a parked car.

In a statement, Morden Police Chief Brad Neduzak said the gusty winds that day pushed over the pole onto a vehicle. There were no injuries, just damage to the vehicle.

Bruce Owen, Media Relations Officer for Manitoba Hydro, submitted this statement to PembinaValleyOnline when asked to comment on why this happened, and if there are more poles that are weakened and need to be replaced.

Morden Chamber of Commerce reports steady growth and a full, diverse board 

Lots of shaking of hands and conversations happened at Thursday's Morden Chamber of Commerce 2023 AGM at the Morden 55+ Activity Centre.  

Board Chair Tyler Schroeder was pleased with the full crowd, and the rate of growth the organization has seen, because of targeted efforts through the Strategic Plan.

Morden Mayor Nancy Penner voted back onto AMM council 

When Morden Mayor Nancy Penner decided to run for her newly elected position as mayor, she had to resign her position as councilor for the city and from a position on the Association of Manitoba Municipalities (AMM) as Central District Director for the region.   

Now back in the municipal representative community, Penner took another bid for the director role.
