Campground bookings at Morden's Lake Minnewasta are off to a great start
May first marked the opening of Lake Minnewasta Campground registrations. Campground Director Brian Thiessen said those wanting a long weekend site may need to act fast.
"The starting bookings of the season have been really good. The usuals are filling up our long weekend is almost full. July-long has one site left, technically, and then as the calls keep coming in, we'll just keep plugging people in as they are."
Manitoba fire fighters support Ukraine with donations
When the Manitoba Association of Fire Chiefs (MAFC) sent out an email to all departments across the province asking for donations of used gear and anything else that could be used to support Ukraine, the Winkler Fire Department was one of the first to answer the call.

Morden Corn & Apple Festival returns this summer
Another popular Manitoba summer festival is set to make a near-normal return this year after the pandemic forced its cancellation for the past two years.
The Morden Corn & Apple Festival, famous for free buttered corn and local apple cider, three stages of entertainment, a midway and bus tours, is credited for bringing in 80,000 visitors to the area over the course of the weekend.
