Back to school - Humboldt school speed zones back in effect

It's back to school for students in the Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools in Humboldt and the Horizon School Division. Youngsters will be on their way to class on Tuesday, Sept. 5, some for the first time. 

 Motorists are reminded to take extra precautions will pedestrian traffic at key times. In Humboldt, school zone speed restrictions are back in place and down to 30 km per hour during restricted hours (between 8 am and 5 pm on school days).   

Combined Traffic Services reminds motorists to obey laws at intersections

It’s been a busy first half of the year for Saskatchewan’s Combined Traffic Services officers keeping tabs on the province’s crossroads. Since the beginning of the year, the RCMP reports that Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan (CTSS) has issued 1816 tickets to drivers in Saskatchewan for violations at intersections. 

Here are some of the most common violations CTSS officers have observed and ticketed individuals for: 

  • Disobey stop sign: 1289 charges

Our final Keepin' it Cool Winner was Horizon Fertilizer out in Bruno!

We delivered some drinks and ice cream just before the long weekend to keep them cool with all the nice weather expected to come. 

They were very surprised when we showed up with a full cooler but were very thankful that we came. 

Meal in the Field Week 2 - The Yeager Family

It was Week 2 of Meal in the Field, and it was smiles all around with the Yeager family. 

The Yeager farm is a 3rd generation farm with 1800 acres and is a mom and sons crew, run by Kim, Eric and Adam. 

They say harvest is going as well as can be expected and hope to finish up by the end of September. 

They enjoyed a delicious meal with Bolt FM staff while surrounded by friends and family.

Area RCMP detachments are seeking the public’s help with a pair of incidents.  

Wakaw RCMP Detachment is seeking the public's assistance in locating Albert Lavallee who was reported missing from Cudworth, SK. Albert Lavallee was last seen on August 31 at 08:00 AM. Albert Lavallee is described as 177 cm, 77 kg, male, Albert may be operating a Blue 1999 Chevrolet Silverado with Saskatchewan plate 674GGY. 

Horizon School Division to host Opening Day Celebration

Horizon School Division will welcome approximately 900 staff members to Humboldt for its annual opening day celebration.

Since 2014, Horizon staff have gathered to celebrate successes, collaborate, and prepare for the upcoming school year. In addition to student entertainment, greetings from the Board of Education, Excellence in Teaching and Years of Service awards, and a new inductee to the Horizon Wall of Fame, the day will feature a memorial tribute to Horizon’s late Board of Education Chair, Jim Hack.

FACC Partners with CRA for Debt Recovery Program Using Tax Refunds and Benefits

On August 21, the Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority (FACC) announced its participation in the Canadian Revenue Agency’s (CRA) Individual Refund Offset Program. The program allows the FCAA to recover outstanding debts owed to the Crown through an individual’s tax refunds and other benefits.
