Ten years ago today, on a wicked winter's morning in Winnipeg, Classic 107 came to air with the glorious and hopeful strains of Beethoven's Ode to Joy.
It was a marquee event at the Centennial Concert Hall as arts and culture leaders, dignitaries and other special guests gathered together to celebrate the launch of a new player in the dynamic and exciting Winnipeg and southern Manitoba arts scene.
Over the years, we've welcomed homegrown talent and international superstars to the studio; built connections within our arts and culture community; bolstered local businesses through thoughtful advertising partnerships; and, discovered, shared and listened to plenty of music.
We love being a part of the cultural fabric that makes Winnipeg so unique... and we've welcomed plenty of others into the fold as listeners online have joined us from across the country and, indeed, the world.
The connection made through the music has become a special one and we are so appreciative of all your feedback -- the selections you just cannot get enough of hearing and those, well, of which you're less fond. We really have been listening together.
Thank you to everyone for making these last TEN YEARS on the air such special ones!
With your support, we will continue to bring you the best in classical and jazz music for many years to come!
