The Town of Strathmore has announced it is planning for the future of recreation and culture in the community.

A needs assessment is being worked on to help identify how the town should direct its resources towards recreation and cultural opportunities in Strathmore. The last one was completed back in 2020, but the town says a lot has changed since then.

"Recreation and culture services are key contributors to residents’ quality of life. High-quality recreation opportunities are fundamentally important to create a vibrant community," wrote the town on its website.

The town is specifically looking for insight into how residents use recreation and culture services, what people would like to see offered in town, and what's stopping residents from participating in what is currently offered.

There are two ways to provide feedback. One is through an open community forum, which will be held at the Strathmore Civic Centre on September 23 at 5 p.m. The other is through a household survey, which will be available online and as a paper copy.

More details will be released on the assessment via the town's Facebook page.
