Fraid Knot, a Celtic rock band based out of Calgary, will be performing at the Royal Canadian Legion in Strathmore on Saturday (Nov. 16).
The show, which is set to begin at 8 p.m., has already sold out, according to lead singer and founding member Byron Eddy.
"We noticed there are a lot of east coasters and people from Europe who were missing a part of home," said Eddy. "Growing up on the east coast, it was natural for me."
Describing themselves as calmer than Dropkick Murphy's and edgier than Great Big Sea, Fraid Knot provides a blend of traditional Celtic music and contemporary original tunes.
Byron added that this is their first show performing at the Legion.
"It's always a good time with good people and lots of fun, so we're certainly looking forward to this Saturday."
Fraid Knot has released two albums, with a third currently under production.
