The annual charity auction may have a new name and new look, but it's the same spirit and great community support that drives the Friends Festival Auction. Formerly the Festival of Wreaths, the annual Christmas time staple has outgrown its association with merely wreaths when it started 25 years ago.
Make no mistake, there are still custom designed, sensational wreaths to be had as part of the auction, but it’s expanded over the years to include so much more.
The Friends Festival has its official opening on Thursday, November 14 at 1 pm.
The Festival offers downtown shoppers and walkers a place to visit, to browse the expansive collection of handcrafted items and goods provided by local businesses, and to enjoy seasonal musical performances.
On November 14, Humboldt’s Yanna Yudina-Jeewon will provide her own unique vocal blend of seasonal favourites. Various other performers will drop by for a performance or a sing-along through the Festival’s run until mid-December.
You can place your bids online at humboldtmuseum.ca/auction, but it’s a great idea to peruse the collection live at the opening to get a sense of the beauty, variety and artistry of the items. Come on down to the Gallery for hot chocolate and some great musical numbers as the newly named Friends Festival Auction kicks off its 25th season.
