It's a special time of the year at Cochrane Home Treasures.
Parents can now sign-up their children for the annual Kids Christmas Shopping Event on Dec. 1 at Cochrane Home Treasures for youth ages 5 to 12.
Kids will be able to select gifts for five special people for just $5 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at Cochrane's nonprofit quality second-hand store.
The preparation for the day is months in the making, explains store manager Cayley Breeze.
"We started collecting items probably four months ago to make sure we have a really great selection of different gifts they can choose from."
The number of youth they can accommodate is limited and parents should sign them up as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Time slots are assigned.
It's a kids only shopping event, meaning parents aren't allowed in, but not to worry. Home Treasures has numerous Elf Helpers on hand to navigate the youth through the store to select their gifts.
Parents can get a sign-up form at the store, through their Facebook post or by emailing hometreasures@ telus.net.
