A new commemorative coin is on display at the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology in Drumheller.

According to the museum, the Royal Canadian Mint has released the Regaliceratops peterhewsi dinosaur in coin form.

A skull of the Regaliceratops peterhewsi was discovered overlooking the Oldman River by staff with the Royal Tyrrell Museum.

"Regaliceratops (“royal horned face”) refers to the crown-like projections around its head, and peterhewsi honours the geologist who found this dinosaur in 2005," wrote the museum on its Facebook page.
