A series of coordinated efforts by the RCMP and partnering units has led to the arrest of several individuals wanted on outstanding warrants across Saskatchewan and Alberta.
Lloydminster Man Arrested on Weapon Charge
Prior to Dillon's arrest, officers observed Dylane McAllister, a 29-year-old man from Lloydminster, leaving a local business. Lloydminster RCMP's Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) arrested McAllister on an outstanding warrant from Maidstone RCMP for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was detained and is set to appear in court.
Arrest of Valance Wapass on Thunderchild First Nation
On November 6, 2024, Saskatoon WEST officers identified Valance Wapass, a 40-year-old man from Onion Lake Cree Nation, at a residence on Thunderchild First Nation, SK. Wapass was wanted on outstanding warrants from Onion Lake and Turtleford RCMP, including charges of assault with a weapon, assault, uttering threats, and five counts of failing to comply with a probation order. With the assistance of the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team, officers contained the area and arrested Wapass without incident. He remains in custody awaiting his court appearance.
Canada-Wide Warrant Leads to Arrest on Onion Lake Cree Nation
The following day, on November 7, 2024, Saskatoon WEST officers located Garett Stanley, a 23-year-old man from Onion Lake Cree Nation, at a residence on Onion Lake Cree Nation. Stanley was arrested on a Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large. He has been returned to custody.
Edmonton Woman Arrested on Canada-Wide Warrant
RCMP officers located Tamarah Dillon, a 31-year-old woman from Edmonton, AB, who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large. Dillon also had an outstanding warrant from Onion Lake RCMP for assault with a weapon. She was taken into custody and is currently awaiting court proceedings on her criminal charges.
Coordinated Effort Across Multiple RCMP Units
These arrests were made possible through collaboration between Saskatoon WEST, Lloydminster RCMP’s General Investigation Section (GIS) and Crime Reduction Unit (CRU), Turtleford RCMP, and the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team.
The RCMP's continued efforts in executing these warrants demonstrate a commitment to public safety and accountability. All individuals taken into custody will face court proceedings on their respective charges.
