The annual Strathmore Santa Claus Parade is getting ready to hit the streets once again.
The parade will run on November 30 at 5 p.m.
Carey Rose, owner and realtor with REMAX/Key and organizer of the event, says the parade is all about community.
"I think it's our fifth year doing it now. It's so much fun. It's really about bringing our community together and what better reason than Santa Claus."
Currently, the parade has 20 floats registered, and Rose explained there is no limit on how many floats can be a part of the parade.
"We've got lots of room if we want to add more, I mean usually about 50 is kind of where we top out, but we really don't have a limit."
The parade route will encompass many roads in downtown Strathmore with road closures in effect at 4 p.m. that day.
Non-for-profit businesses won't need to pay a fee to enter, although for-profit businesses will need to pay $25.
All the funds raised from the event will go towards the best-voted floats with $300 for first place, $200 for second, and $100 for third.
Rose says that being able to put this event on is so important to her.
"Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year. I just love everything to do with Christmas and I love being able to get out in the community and give back. Being a realtor and a business owner, we often don't get to see our friends and past clients."
