Moose Jaw is sitting on the edge of a winter storm system bringing freezing rain, heavy snow, and gusty winds to eastern Saskatchewan.
“Right now, we’re not looking at too much in Moose Jaw – we just have a pop of some flurries for Monday night, and for today just a pop of some showers,” said Shannon Moodie, meteorologist with Environment Canada.
“But, if the track of that system moves just a little bit westward, then we could see some snow in through Moose Jaw with that system.”
Today’s daytime high is 6 degrees Celsius, with the overnight low of –5 degrees possibly reaching -13 with the wind chill overnight.
Periods of snow and blowing snow could be seen in the Moose Jaw area on Tuesday night.
Moodie encourages people to keep an eye on the forecast during the next 24 hours. “Usually when systems are developing, their track can change, and the weather can change quite quickly.”
