The holiday season is a time for giving, and CHVN 95.1 FM is teaming up with the Salvation Army to make this Christmas unforgettable for local families in need.
From Thursday, Nov. 21, to Saturday, Nov. 23, you’re invited to join us at the Kenaston Walmart (1665 Kenaston Blvd.) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily to spread the joy of the season through Holiday Heroes.
How You Can Help
Bring a new, unwrapped toy or purchase one on-site to donate to the Salvation Army’s Christmas toy program. These gifts will stock the shelves of their special toy store, which gives parents the dignity of choosing presents their children will love.
Kristin Marand from the Salvation Army shared the heart behind this initiative.
"It’s nice to get a gift, but being able to shop for something that suits your child’s personality brings dignity to parents," Marand said.
"They know their kids best – whether it’s superheroes, crafts, or outdoor activities."
Last year, over 8,500 children across Manitoba woke up to gifts on Christmas morning thanks to this program. This year, with your help, we hope to bless even more kids, especially as rising costs have increased the number of families in need.
Donate and Win
Every toy donation earns you an entry into the CHVN Ticket Window, with exciting prizes to be won.
That includes tickets to see Paul Baloche at the Christmas Worship Tour on Dec. 2, as well as the Newsboys at their World Revival Tour in Winnipeg next spring.
Winners will be announced on Monday, Nov. 25, so don’t miss your chance!
Why It Matters
Inflation has made the holidays particularly challenging for many families this year. Your generosity can provide more than just a gift – it can bring hope, joy, and the love of Christ to homes in Winnipeg and beyond.
Spread the word by sharing this event with friends and family. Together, let’s shine the light of Jesus this Christmas and make the season bright for children in need.
We’ll see you at the Kenaston Walmart – let’s be Holiday Heroes together!
