Carnie's Comments
They played all their "Greatest Hits of All Time" and had some fun doing it.
The 80s Club, featuring Spoons, Men Without Hats, A Flock of Seagulls and Honeymoon Suite took to the stage at the Moose Jaw Events Centre for their 5th show in 5 nights. I wondered if some of these aging rock stars could "bring it". They did and they left it all on the stage.
I loved watching Sandy Horne of Spoons. She plays bass and delivers backing vocals. She's 63 years old. She's been with Spoons since 1979 - 45 years. She was awesome.
Men Without Hats took the stage next with 67-year-old Ivan Doroschuk on the lead vocals. He came in HOT, delivering the song everyone was there to hear, The Safety Dance. He killed it.
And, as he noticed a number of patrons coming in fashionably late, at the end of their set, Ivan and the band did The Safety Dance again!
Two more bands would follow with A Flock of Seagulls putting on a great show and the headliner, Honeymoon Suite, finished off what was a memorable evening.
The folks on the floor had the most fun. Everyone was dancing. We were treated to over 3 hours of music for what was a most reasonable price.
We're sharing some fantastic photos of the show on the Rob Carnie in the Morning Facebook page today. You should have a look.
