Diamond Valley Fire Rescue responded to a vehicle fire on Wednesday (June 11), which caused a road to be closed for a couple of hours.
At approximately 4:42 p.m., the Diamond Valley Fire Rescue were dispatched to a vehicle fire on George Street between Sunset Boulevard and McLeod Crescent/Regent Road on the Turner Valley side of town.
Once the crews arrived, they saw a construction trailer that was fully engulfed in flames, and the radiating heat was threatening a neighbouring home.
The firefighters quickly controlled the fire and extinguished the fire, which prevented the fire from spreading to a nearby residential structure.
As a result of the fire, George Street was closed for roughly two hours to allow the fire crews to do their work and the subsequent fire investigation.
Engine 2, Engine 3, and the Duty Chief all responded to the fire, and traffic control was provided by the RCMP and the Diamond Valley Municipal Enforcement.
They are still investigating the cause of the fire.
