Numerous SaskPower customers in the West Central region lost their lights this weekend, and one more unplanned outage is still in effect as SaskPower continues their restoration efforts.

Beginning with the active situation, at 10:22 PM on Sunday night SaskPower crews were dispatched to determine the cause and time of repair for the outage reported in Gull Lake, Fox Valley, Eston, Abbey, Leader, Sceptre, Lancer, Hazlet, Eatonia, Plato, Richlea, Prelate and all surrounding rural areas.

Gull Lake had their power restored judging by an update at 12:51 AM on Monday, and then the next update at 2:02 AM removed Fox Valley from the list, while also reporting that a partial restoration was in place for customers in Abbey, Sceptre, Lancer, Hazlet, Eatonia, Plato, Richlea, Prelate, and surrounding rurals.

As of 8:00 AM there has still been no estimated time of restoration for full power services, and no reason given for the disruptions though some heavy weather passing through the area could easily be the culprit.

As crews continue to work, it's noted that the current outage is continuing a string of events since the weekend.

The same area above was under an outage early Saturday morning, the first reports coming in at 11:43 PM on Friday night as crews were sent out to investigate the cause and determine a repair time. By just after 1:00 PM on Saturday afternoon, SaskPower was happy to report that the necessary repairs had been completed, and power was restored.

In the meantime, at around 9:47 AM on Saturday an outage was reported for Alsask and surrounding areas, a short outage with the power being restored shortly after 11:00 AM. A longer outage was experienced by White Bear at 9:00 AM, with the power back on by 4:00 PM.

Another outage took place around the Kyle region on Friday night. At 11:36 PM an outage hit the areas of Demaine, Beechy, Matador, Kyle, White Bear, Lacadena, Sask Landing, White Bear, and all surrounding rurals, the repairs being completed by 1:15 AM as the power was restored.

It was a busy week for crew's province wide, with northern outages and city outages dominating the SaskPower media channels in addition to the rural.
