The deadline for the Swift Current Museum's Veteran Banner Program is fast approaching.

August 29 is the deadline for anyone who would like to see a friend or family member honoured with a banner in Swift Current. The banners are hung each year, detailing a service member's rank, name, and service. They are put up around Swift Current in time for Remembrance Day, helping to highlight local veterans and veterans with relations in Swift Current.

Crystal Ljunggren, education coordinator at the Swift Current Museum, encourages people to get their submissions in before the deadline.

"It has been a very special program that we have had for quite some time now," said Ljunggren. "It really is a great way to honour our veterans."

People can call the Museum for information, or look up the banners on the City of Swift Current website for more information. Submissions must include a photo of the veteran and a write-up of what the applicant would like said about the veteran.

Submissions received after August 29 will be logged for next year's program.
