Angela is predeceased by her husband, Lloyd George Maynard and son, Craig Thomas Maynard.
Angela was born on April 25,1928 in Gull Lake, SK to Tom and Jean Melvin and had 2 younger siblings, sister, Shirley Jensen and brother, Wayne Melvin who she loved dearly but sadly all predeceased Angela. Angela attended Normal School in Regina, SK where she became a teacher, teaching at Kemmel Hill School, a one-room schoolhouse in Antelope, SK. Angela married George in 1948, they farmed in Webb, SK prior to ranching in Pritchard, BC, Irvine, AB and finally settling on a cattle ranch in Princeton, BC for the remainder of their lives.
To know Angela was to love her. She was always ready to help anyone in need, she volunteered for years at the Princeton Secondary Family Fair, and many of her children’s friends will fondly remember coming to the ranch for her baking – bread, chocolate chip cookies or her famous Christmas iced cookies.
At Angela’s request, no service will be held. Memorial donations can be made in Angela’s name to Princeton & District Community Services Society. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Ridgewood Lodge for their care and kindness shown to mom while she lived there.
