Alberta RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit is again asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant, noting he has ties to North Battleford.
Christian Nyabirungu, 35, is wanted for first-degree murder, kidnapping and aggravated assault in connection with the September 2018 killing of Aldane Mesquita in Strathcona County, Alta.
RCMP say Nyabirungu may have changed his appearance but is described as being six-foot-two, about 240 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and dark skin.
He is believed to have connections not only to Edmonton, where the homicide occurred, but also to North Battleford, Toronto and Montreal, where family members live.
Police warn that Nyabirungu is dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone who sees him or has information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the RCMP or local police. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers.
