Estevan men now have a new place to connect, share, and find support through a peer-led program offered by Envision Counselling and Support Centre Inc.
The Men’s Support Group, beginning October 14, 2025, is designed to provide a safe, judgment-free space for men to discuss life’s challenges. The seven-week program meets Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m., with the exact location to be confirmed. The program is free, but pre-registration is required.
“This is just a place for guys to come, share, and hopefully just recognize that they don’t have to go at it alone,” said Raven Daer, communications specialist for Envision. “We recognize that life throws challenges at all of us, and it’s not easy to feel like you’re carrying the weight of the world alone. Often men are hesitant to reach out, but this is a safe and judgment-free zone where they can share and know they aren’t alone.”
Daer explained that communities across southeast Saskatchewan have been deeply impacted by men’s mental health. “We have lost a lot of young men and older men in our communities, so we want to be that safe space to provide non-judgmental support and let men know that they aren’t alone out there,” she said.
The group is open-ended, allowing participants to bring forward topics that matter to them. “There is no set agenda or itinerary,” Daer said. “It is just open-ended conversation and peer-to-peer support. It removes the pressure and allows men to speak at their own pace, learn tools, and navigate relationships, stress, personal growth, and self-worth through shared experiences and a sense of community.”
Emmett Aronson, Envision counsellor, added, “It’s not about having all the answers; it’s about showing up, being real, and knowing you’ve got a group of guys who’ve got your back.”
The program is free but pre-registration is required due to limited spaces. Men interested in joining can contact Envision’s Intake Counsellor at intake@envisioncounsellingcentre.com or 306-637-4004.
Envision hopes the group will provide support, improve communication, and equip men with practical tools for managing life’s pressures. The organization continues to provide innovative counselling services for individuals, couples, and families in the region.
