A southwest woman was sentenced on a duo of charges earlier this week stemming from an incident involving public intoxication this past summer.

51-year-old Joanna Kadlutsiak appeared in Swift Current Provincial Court on Wednesday morning, where she pleaded guilty to and was sentenced on two counts, including uttering threats and mischief.

She was handed a $300 fine on the first count and a $200 fine on the second count, in addition to receiving 10 months of probation, strict alcohol restrictions, and being ordered to submit to addiction and anger programming.

The victim fine surcharge was waived, and Kadlutsiak was given the next six months to pay off the $500 in fines.

Around 6:15 p.m. on July 4, 2025, the accused was seen outside of a Swift Current business, appearing to be intoxicated. When approached by a member of the public, she quickly became agitated.

The individual reported feeling threatened and heading inside their vehicle. Kadlutsiak reportedly followed, banged on the window of the individual's vehicle, and said that "she wanted to kill them".

The individual contacted RCMP, who attended the scene.

It was determined that the incident didn't result in any damage to the vehicle or its window.
