The SPCA Swift Current recently received another terrifying Dead Prairies Productions donation.

Devon Oman, owner, producer and director for Dead Prairies Productions, dropped off over $2,500 at the animal shelter. That money was the proceeds from his debut event for his latest film, The Silver Scream.

Oman donated both the ticket proceeds and the merchandise table proceeds. This is the single largest donation Oman has made after a Dead Prairies Productions premiere. He came close after the premiere of Gorephers 3, which saw around $2,100 raised.

"We had a lot of positive feedback from the movie itself," said Oman. "People reacted and were making comments about the gnomes, or they're laughing."

To date, Dead Prairies Productions has raised north of $38,000 for the SPCA Swift Current.

For Oman, the support for the SPCA stems from his childhood. His parents always had pets in the house when he was growing up, and that has left a lasting impact on the director.

"We had cats, bunnies, dogs, fish, you name it, we had it," said Oman. "I adopted my first dog from the SPCA, called Cujo, and he was my best friend."

Oman has also made efforts to donate to the SPCA Swift Current, outside the proceeds from Dead Prairies Productions.

"I think as long as the animals find their forever home and they're getting great care from the staff out there, that's the main thing," said Oman. "I want to see those animals be treated properly and find the families that suit them."

Fans of Dead Prairies Productions should have some more good news headed their way in the future, according to Oman.

"Stay tuned for some big news coming from Dead Prairies Productions," said Oman. "We're hitting the road very soon. We have a lot of events coming up in southwest Saskatchewan."
