Breathtaking choreography. Sumptuous orchestration. An undisputed classic.
The Royal Winnipeg Ballet presents Swan Lake at the Centennial Concert Hall as part of their 2022/23 season.
“Adrenaline is high,” says RWB Associate Artistic Director Tara Birtwhistle, noting that “everyone is looking forward to getting back on stage.”
Last offered in an online video titled Visions of Swan Lake – a virtual, abridged version recorded during the pandemic – this current production marks the full-scale return of the iconic ballet.
“(This) is how Swan Lake really needs to be seen: with the full company on stage,” says Birtwhistle.
A quintessential classical ballet, the RWB’s Swan Lake features the original Marius Petipa choreography adapted by Galina Yordanova set to Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece score – played by the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of RWB Music Director Julian Pelicano.
Swan Lake runs from Wednesday, March 8 through Sunday, March 12.
