Friday, July 28th marked the last official day at work for Bruce McArthur.
McArthur, the associate director for Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's Swift Current Research and Development Centre, started at the facility in May of 2011.
He says he enjoyed his time in the role and has mixed emotions about leaving the post as he loves the work, the people, and what they've been able to accomplish.
"You know we've gone through an awful lot of changes. Everything from a change in name, it was SPARC to begin with and now it's the Swift Current Research and Development Centre. We had a complete overhaul of our building during that time, so we have newly renovated labs so that's been a huge change. I think the one thing that's been constant though is that the science coming out of the Swift Current Research and Development Centre is top notch."
He hopes scientists and producers remember him as the one who tried to help them in terms of succeeding, adding he cared about the people, and the research and did everything he could to support that research.
McArthur also plays an active role in the community of Swift Current and sits on the Lyric Theatre Board of Directors.
