Tomorrow night, Wednesday, September 6th at 7:00pm, the Women’s Musical Club of Winnipeg will be holding a fundraising concert in support of their Biennial WMC McLellan Competition at 510 South Drive.

Every two years, the WMC McLellan competition awards $20,000 dollars in cash prizes to three outstanding soloists. The intent of the WMC McLellan Scholarship is to provide career funding and performance opportunities for advanced Manitoba educated musicians pursuing performance careers.

The fundraiser tomorrow night will feature musical entertainment by award winning Jazz pianist Evan Miles and his trio as well as wine and refreshments.

The trio consists of Evan Miles on piano, Sam Fournier on bass, and Josh Bonneteau on drums. “They are some my good friends and longest musical colleagues, so it will be a very fun night, we are really looking forward to it,” says Miles.

The fundraiser will consist of two 45 minute sets consisting of down the line Jazz standards as well as some original compositions by Evan Miles. Accompanying the sets guests will be able to take advantage of the drinks and snacks that will be provided by the Women’s Musical Club of Winnipeg.

This is going to be a great fundraiser that showcases one of the truly great up-and-coming jazz pianists here in Winnipeg. This is an event truly not to be missed.

Tickets are $75.00 dollars and can be purchased by going to the Women’s Musical Club of Winnipeg’s website.
