Cucumbers sold in Saskatchewan – recalled
SunFed Produce, LLC is recalling all sizes of whole fresh American cucumbers sold between October 12th and November 26th due to possible Salmonella contamination.
They were packaged in bulk cardboard containers labeled with the “SunFed” label or in a white box or black plastic crate with a sticker that provides the implicated grower’s name, (Agrotato, S.A. de C.V.)
The produce was shipped across the United States and Canada, including to Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Calgary, and Ontario.
Severe weather spawns funnel clouds, tornadoes, and damage in Saskatchewan and Manitoba

There were severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings in east central Saskatchewan on Wednesday as well as Manitoba. Social media has many photos and accounts of a tornado at Saltcoats east of Yorkton around 2 p.m. plus golf ball and baseball-sized hail just north of Theodore.
Boeing Canada invests $17 million in Saskatchewan post-seconday
Boeing Canada is investing $17 million in the Saskatchewan Aviation Learning Centre (SALC) at the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT).
Pierre Ruel, interim managing director of Boeing Canada, says they recognize the urgent need to address the labour shortages impacting the industry. Ruel says SIIT is expected to double the number of men and women who are entering the course so they need more real estate, and the money will allow them to expand while also upgrading equipment.
Collision on Saskatoon's east side claims life
Around 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning Saskatoon Police issued an advisory that there was an accident which occurred in the 4200 block of Taylor Street East in Saskatoon’s Lakeview neighbourhood. The call came in around 6:00 a.m. of a single vehicle collision.
A 16-year-old-male was pronounced dead at the scene while two others in the vehicle, both 15-year-old-males, were taken to hospital one with minor injuries and the other with serious injuries.
Saskatoon firefighters battle controlled burn that became a grass fire
As of 8 p.m. Tuesday night Saskatoon firefighters were still on the scene of a grass fire. Crews are looking for fire extension and putting out hot spots.
The fire is east on Hwy 16 and south on Range Road 3041, approximately 25 kilometres southeast of Saskatoon.
The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to the fire over the noon hour on Tuesday and say it is a controlled burn that had gotten out of control. Upon arrival the fire was estimated to be 200 hectares in size.
Government launches pilot project in an effort to deal with EMS backups in hospital
he Government of Saskatchewan has launched a pilot project to manage ambulance offload delays in Regina and Saskatoon. The new triage software support system to be introduced in June is going to put a Registered Nurse in place who will evaluate calls from the Emergency Medical Dispatcher which are deemed non-emergent. If the patient doesn’t need an ambulance, the RN will direct patients to an alternative health care option. The RN will be available 12 hours a day,

Closing arguments heard, verdict for Greg Fertuck to be delivered in June
The first-degree murder trial with Greg Fertuck charged in the death of his estranged wife Sheree, who went missing, has now ended. She was last seen leaving her farmyard east of Kenaston in December of 2015, and then her truck, keys, coat and a cell phone were found at a local gravel pit near Kenaston where she worked.
