On July 19-20, CFA held its Summer Board Meeting in Saskatoon, SK. This meeting brought together farm leaders from across the country to discuss the priority issues in Canadian agriculture, and to prepare for the following Federal-Provincial-Territorial (FPT) Agriculture Ministers Roundtable.
 
CFA is pleased to announce that Scott Ross accepted the position of Executive Director at CFA on a permanent basis during the board meeting.

Ag industry issues joint statement on the upcoming Next Policy Framework for agriculture

The Canadian Federation of Agriculture issued the following joint statement on Thursday, ahead of the FPT Agriculture Ministers meeting next week taking place in Saskatoon:

Federal/Provincial/Territorial (FPT) Agriculture Ministers will be meeting to make important decisions regarding the direction of the Next Policy Framework (NPF), the primary funding envelope for Canadian agricultural policies and programs for the next five years.

CFA wraps up busy Lobby Week

Farm leaders across the country met with government representatives from multiple Federal parties during the CFA Lobby Week from April 4-8. The CFA Board had approximately 40 meetings during the week with MPs, Senators and key government officials where they outlined the priority issues facing Canadian farmers.

CFA relayed the sector's massive economic and environmental potential, while outlining the main obstacles to reaching that potential and the partnerships with government needed to fully realize Canada’s potential.
