Carman man facing five first degree murder charges following Sunday's deaths
29-year-old Ryan Howard Manoakeesick of Carman has been charged with five counts of First-Degree Murder following Sunday's tragic deaths in and around Carman and the R.M. of Cartier.
Manitoba RCMP confirmed today that the five deaths are in fact homicides, and all members of a single family.

Manitoba RCMP will be providing an update on the investigation into the five suspicious deaths that happened yesterday in and around the Carman area and the R.M. of Cartier.
A news conference is scheduled at D Division headquarters in Winnipeg at 2 p.m. this afternoon where Inspector Tim Arseneault, Operations Officer for RCMP Major Crime Services will offer up additional details into the tragedy.
In announcing the series of events that unfolded yesterday, resulting in the deaths of three children and two women, RCMP confirmed a 29-year-old man was in custody.

Province boosts public education funding by 3.4% for 24/25
The Manitoba government is increasing operating funding for public schools by 3.4 per cent for the 24/25 year. This, noted Education and Early Childhood Learning Minister Nello Altomare, is and amount higher than the provincial inflation rate.

According to SFC Ken MacGregor, that's about 4 million illicit doses with a street value of over $50 million.
